Sep 22, 2016 · Opioid Epidemic Chat with Dr. Hooten in Chronic Pain

Are there any long term effects of taking oxycodone (oxynorm)for chronic pain? I take approximately 75ml per day.
I’m aware of the addictive nature of this drug but am intolerant to everything else for neuropathic pain which in my case is quite severe.

Aug 10, 2016 · Burning skin on waking in Skin Health

Hello, thank you for replying. I have for the past 8-10 months been suffering from psychological distress due to a childhood trauma which has come to the fore. I did wonder as to whether there was a connection between that and my excruciating burning on waking. Dermatology said it was nothing to do with my skin. I haven’t seen a neurologist for a while.
I also suffered a medical trauma whereby I was awake throughout general anaesthesia and felt the operation but was unable to a ake anyone aware of my distress. This was some years before becoming unwell with Fibromyalgia.
Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate your help as your website information suggests this is the link as to the cause.

Thank you. That must have been extremely challenging for you. All I’ve I been told is that it is not skin related. Brain sending wrong messages to my body. Total nightmare without a solution at the moment.

I empathise with you. I would say I am also a physical wreck too after nearly 16 years. I take oxynorm for the pain, it just takes the edge off it. Coping with this level of disability after being very active with a demanding job is very hard to endure.
Take good care of yourself. Sharing is good. I only joined today too.

Goodness, that is a long time! Mine has been a few months. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 15 years ago and this is a recent symptom. Thank you for your reply, it has been helpful. I’m finding it very difficult to cope with as very severe all over, even my scalp. I hate to say this but it makes me cry it is so intense.
I do hope yours clears up as I cannot imagine having this long term.
Thank you so much again.

Hello….I live with chronic pain. I was diagnosed with CFS/Fibromyalgia in 2001 but was treated for suspected Lyme’s this year as was bitten in 2000 and had the EM rash, Bells Palsy.Since treatment my pain and fatigue has increased and I burn severely on waking. I have had lesions which have now cleared. Wondered if anyone here has Chronic Lyme’s or (suspected)and experiences severe burning as if from inside out but their skin hurts too.
I would like to share with anyone who has similar symptoms?
(Bloods results were negative)
I try to do the best I can with my limitations. I used to write music and still compose poetry and when have energy, do bespoke calligraphy.
Thank you.
