Our friend, Sue was diagnosed with ALS in March, went into assisted living in May, and passed a few days ago. She was 73 and we are shocked with how fast the disease progressed but strangely at peace with her passing. Sue was a neighbor of my parents and cared for them as if they were her own parents. She was a "sister" to me and it feels like her passing is the final goodbye to both of my parents who passed seven and four years ago. There is no longer any reason to go home.

I am a heart transplant recipient, and many people treat me as if I am a conquering hero, but my situation is nothing compared to what ALS brings. Just needed to share.
Best always,
s!
