It all depends on what your findings are. If by physio you’re speaking of Physical Therapy I’d wait until they evaluate you before you spend money on a shoulder sling.

1 ReactionLeft shoulder was fractured five years ago, Dr. would not operate due to age! So I am left with a bad shoulder which I cannot raise and constant pain. I am left-handed! So I just have to live with it and try to use the R shoulder more which is difficult at times.
Get another opinion from another orthopedic surgeon what do they say is wrong
You can try it, however I wouldn't use it for long term. For short periods, 15-30 minutes a few times a day. You don't want it to be in the sling all day long. Try epsom salt baths, getting a massage. try Real Time cream- that helps me. Have you seen a PT yet? Stretching helps and doing exercises specifically for your shoulder. A chiropractor might help as well or massage therapist, dry needling and relexology type massage might help.
@loretta1612 Just curious, how old are you? Wondering if that is ageism or if it is justified? That sounds like a terrible situation for you. You have my warmest wishes for some kind of help to come your way.
I am 97 I am doing fairly well and have a daughter who is a great support. I do my own housework so I am not
handicapped. I don't mean to complain as I am blessed in many ways.
