Where can I get a QCT scan done?

I live in Naples and my doctor's office has been unable to find anywhere that does the QCT, Due to my older age, scoliosis, severe arthritic changes, hip replacement, etc. the DXA has not been helpful and I'm uncertain of the accuracy of my 2 REMS.
@gently, @donnabutcher, where did you have your QCT's done?

hi, zooie, UC San Francisco. I've heard that the university in Florida uses the CT scanner with the special software for bone density. It's only a five hour or so drive from Naples, which your back won't appreciate. QCT Capabilities: While UF has advanced Musculoskeletal Radiology departments capable of high-resolution CT imaging, routine bone density screening using QCT is less common due to higher radiation and cost considerations.
"You can get a Quantitative Computed Tomography (QCT) scan for bones at several RAYUS Radiology locations in Florida. RAYUS offers this non-invasive test on traditional CT scanners to measure bone mineral density."
I don't trust this quote from Rayus, but you might try calling the Rayus Radiology locations.

Have you considered getting your bone turnover markers measured to see if you are actively losing bone density? CTx and P1NP blood tests are the standard ones you can get. A DEXA or QCT will tell you the current state of your bones but the turnover marker tests let you know what is actually happening to your bones. It’s recommended by many experts to get these run every 3 months to check if your interventions (meds, supplements,exercise etc) are actually making a difference.
