When the justice system fails victims of domestic violence

Posted by @wilmalouingram, Nov 1, 2017

I guess I am one of the many domestic violence family that wasn’t helped ? My childern were never questioned ! To top it off my abuser was and still is a meth user. Wow ! An abused depressed person was not believed overy a drug user ! Yes you heard it right ! Even the Victim Services denied myself and my childern help ! My abuser said he’d take my kid’s away , kill me no one would ever find my body, I ran away. Thing’s that all abuser’s tell their victim’s. To this day I am still not heard.

@wilmalouingram – I’m really sorry that you haven’t been heard or believed. Are your children okay today? I know that they are the ones we care most about.

Hello @wilmalouingram. I wanted to add my welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. It takes strength to publicly talk about what is happening to you and your family.

I’d like to introduce you to some other Connect members who have talked about abuse, like @blindeyepug, @temccracken and @tabi.

Are you and your children safe at this point? Have you been able to see a doctor about your depression?

@wilmalouingram – you'd talked before about being a victim of domestic violence and not being heard. How is this going?
