What to do before starting Brinsupri?

Hi everyone. I am wondering what, if anything, needs to be done before starting Brinsupri. Did you have a baseline CT scan? My last one was in January.

Since I am on the Big 3, I have three sputum samples and blood work tested every month and eyes and hearing tested every four months. Is there anything else I should request? Thank you!

Sounds like you are on top of things! Only thing I would add is a visit to the dentist.

@renee53 my understanding is that it is dependent on several variables including: prior authorization from your doctor, prescription drug plan formulary, household income to name a few.

Yes. I am still in the process. Hopefully it won’t be much longer. I am excited, as is my. Pulomonglist, about this new drug. It is a rbright light of hope with those who struggle with bronchectasis. I sometimes wonder, if anyone else ever suffers bouts of extreme fatigue, like muscle weakness and a bit of lightheadedness and a drop in blood pressure. I know it is soncected to this disease. I am not even in a flare up and I can feel these symptoms. I can’t seem to find an explanation for them

@renee53
I experience fatigue in general which is common with BE. Also extreme fatigue every day after lunch and I have to sleep for up to an hour. The extreme fatigue does not start to lift for a few hours at which point I am able to function more (not much!). My pulmo says it is the infection needing all my energy and when I eat it takes more energy to digest. Your pseudomonas is down now or otherwise I would think it was from that as it is in my case. You were also on some pretty strong antibiotics for 3 weeks and that can take time to recover. Does the Arikayce cause lower BP?
