I live in Austin, TX. My doctors here have recommended I seek treatment at the Mayo Clinic for my heart problems. Is there a certain Mayo Clinic location that is best for treating heart disease or can I go to the location closest to me?

Hi. I am also in Austin and traveled to the Mayo in Florida last year. I am probably going back again in May. I think you will be glad you made the trip. The Florida campus is very manageable in size and you simply won’t believe the way medicine is practiced there. Austin is really a medical black hole in some ways. We need a med school!

I would have to agree with you on this one. I’m also from Austin and have had a very difficult time getting help in Austin. Getting a diagnosis of the root cause of my issues took over three months. I certainly agree with the black hole concept.
Not to brag or anything but I have been trying for a diagnosis for Three Years. I have had an awful experience with the rheumatologist here and will try a new one after Mayo. I have a great GP here but she cannot do everything. Good Luck to you both.
well it depends on what kind of heart disease you have. the one in minnesota is good and i went there for heart problems.
MN. see US World News &Reports Top 10 Cardiac, #1.Clevelend Clinic #2.Mayo, Rochester MN ….Good Luck.
UT Health Science Ctr @ San Antonio has great doctors. If you have cardiomyopathy, contact the HCM clinic. Dr. Marc Feldman is a cardiomyopathy specialist…..one of the top heart docs in US. He’s very, very good, He treated me at the VA.
