What helps radiation cystitis after radiation to the urethra?

Posted by deelisa @deelisa, Aug 7 8:25am

I have completed 28 treatments of female urethra radiation on day 7 post and have had severe radiation cycitis and bowel issues. I have tried creams, lidocaine silvadene and today started a medrol dose pak. I also have a peri bottle stopped all my supplements for burning urine and excoriation. Anything else I can do?

One person in the prostate forum found this to work, Ask your doctor about it.

Uribel really works. To stop burning while peeing.

Like @jeffmarc said, radiation cystitis has been discussed quite a bit in the Prostate Cancer forum. You might find some of these discussions helpful albeit as it applies to men:

Deelisa, are the symptoms improving as time passes?
