What Cannabis/CBD for knee replacement to avoid opioids for Pain/sleep
Hi,
My 70 year old partner in good shape is having a knee replacement tomorrow (she had one
20 years ago) and wants to use cannabis for pain and to avoid opioids and to sleep. This may mean 1 for pain and 1 For sleep.
We have dispensaries with wide varieties of cannabis in California but most staff are not knowledgeable on specifics for pain. There are hundreds of varieties for Pleasure but what are we looking for to help pain Mainly and sleep.
Any advice is appreciated!

I used Incredibles Snoozzier Berry 50/50/100. I only used the opioids twice after I severely twisted the knee four weeks post op.

2 ReactionsGood thinking imo. I used the prescription opioids for a few days postop but the switched to cannabis exclusively. The process worked very well for me.
I have pretty good experience đ and knew what to use for me. I used indica strains for sleeping or to relax midday early on and Sativa during the day. Specific strains are largely irrelevant imo.
That said, there are wise and informed âbud tendersâ out there but, not living near you, Iâm no help. I suggest asking around and trying a store or more. If you donât have a good feeling with the person youâre talking to, donât hesitate to move on until you feel youâre in the right place. Be honest with your concerns and expectations.
Best of luck to you and your spouse!
I'm 80 and last year was involved in a construction accident that had me in a neck brace for 2 months, a weak wrist and nerve pain in my shoulders, forearms and hands. Was on Gabapentin for nerve pain for months until I was able to wean myself off the drug. I was introduced to a CBD cream that relieved me of surface nerve discomfort that I apply just before bedtime and lasts for about 12 hours per application. The link below shows the product that suited me best. This cream doesn't have a strong odor and is easy to apply. One tube lasts me about a month and when it appears to be out of product cut off the end of the tube and you'll find about another 4-5 days of cream left for use. I would purchase a tube to see if it gives you some relief then to cut the cost down some I schedule 2 tubes every 2 months. Hope this helps...
