Wedge resection, subsegmentectomy, or segmentectomy for mGGNs?
I have mixed ground-glass nodules on both of my lungs. The left lower lobe has a 9 × 5 mm nodule, and the right lower lobe has a 6 × 5 mm nodule. The left lower lobe nodule is adjacent to a blood vessel and is planned for surgical removal first. Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I opt for wedge resection, subsegmentectomy, or segmentectomy?

Good Afternoon- What type of surgery are they planning? VATS?
What does your surgeon recommend? Mine was Upper left lung, VATS surgery and I had a segmentectomy. They didn’t offer a selection, they just did what they thought would be best to get the nodule out and a clear margin, but also save lung function. I don’t believe it was near a blood vessel but it was near my Lingula and they wanted to avoid that. I pray that all goes well with your surgery!🙏 Mine went well and I have been 3 years clear and can do everything I used to do before. Recovery does take a while, but just make sure you follow Doctor’s orders and do lots of walking to help your lungs get the blood and air they need to recover.
The less tissue they need to take the better.
