A year ago, prostate cancer wasn't even a thought in my mind. Now, I'm gratefully kicking its a%% (so far) Thanks to everyone on MCC for your support and encouragement.

Happy New Year All

Years ago, I worked as a web developer for a large transit system. They paid us triple time if we volunteered to work New Year's Eve. It involved walking up and down the platform and making sure drunk people didn't fall in front of the trains and, gross as it sounds, stopping guys from peeing on the tracks because if the stream hit the third rail it wouldn't be good.

There'd be a crush of people around 8-9 PM, then it was quiet until 1-2 AM when they all came back again.

At midnight, the platform was empty except for a very elderly woman in a wheelchair. I said "Happy New Year" to her and she smiled and replied "oh, yes, this is going to be my best year ever!" Your post made me think of her and her amazing attitude for the first time in years.

As much as PC has sucked, it's also humbled me given me more grace towards others knowing we're all just doing the best we can. As Prince sang, "Dearly beloved, we are here today to get through this thing called life ..."

Happy New Year and thanks to everyone who, in the early days of my diagnosis, "talked me down from the ledge."

So very true. And due in no small part to the shared knowledge, lived experiences, support and friendships cultivated by all on MCC. Thanks to each of you for another year of caring and sharing. All the best in 2026!

When my Husband was diagnosed in April of this year, I felt so blind and lost. When I chanced upon this forum, I felt like I had stumbled upon a Zen garden! It was not conversation with faces but with hearts and your voices stayed in my mind. I felt held and do. Thank you each and everyone of you, thank you! May God bless and heal us. A very Happy New year to all!

yes..this site is amazing...after I found out I had PC in early June'25..I was a basket case..fear, denial, confusion...lost 30 pounds from fear..no sleep.. 3 trips to ER -
then I found this site..got with a great urology/oncology group...saw how many others were just like me...and found the best thing of all..HOPE !

Thanks to jeff marchi and all the others who shared invaluable info and their story/journey !!

My second PSA just came in this morning at 4 am..on patient portal..PSA < .01 and Testostrone 5.7.. 6 months in to the battle ( PSA was 61 at start)

Hope 2026 is kinder to us...and best wishes to each and all !

As we welcome in 2026, my thoughts are with those that are no longer with us, those that didn't have the advantages we have (medical advancements, skilled clinicians, a knowledge base like MCC, etc).

I am so fortunate to be right here, right now. Blessed with improving health, blessed with a great spouse, blessed by God in so many ways.

Putting 2025 in the past and looking forward to all that 2026 brings, the highs, the lows and everything in between.

@jeff1963 I really hope that all people here will be here next year with great stories of success. There's a lot of knowledge here, so I have the information to ask the doctors pointed questions about my treatment. I never trust anyone 100% and I'm always skeptical of things, this forum helps feed curiosity without searching across the internet like crazy.
Thanks everyone and have a great year!!!
