Viral Optic Neuritis

I have been diagnosed with optic neuritis due to a herpes simplex infection. It is very rare and can spread to my brain. At this point I've lost partial vision to my right eye. So far the antiviral and prednisone treatment is working. Just feeling pretty alone and a little afraid. Looking for similar stories.

Hello, was it HSV-1? And can I ask how was your vision affected? Have a suspicion for a similar diagnosis but everyone seems confused, as it is quite atypical.
