Vertigo and sound in the head
For the headache, the Dr. prescribed me with Venlafaxine 75mg, later reduced to 36.50mg, because the meds didn't help to eradicate the headache, the Dr. ordered me to stop taking it, at the next day, I start to have kind of Vertigo and the sound of kind of ratchet in my head, the Dr. re-prescribed the same meds and the symptoms dissapeared, I stopped again and the symptoms back, the Dr. reduced the meds to 1 pill -25 mg for 14 days, after I stopped, the same symptoms back again, at this time I am desperate because I don't see how to stop this symptoms, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated , thanks

Hi,
I started out with a horrendous attack of vertigo being unable to move or I would fall over, with it came the tinitus. It drove me grazy until I got used to it and am able to put it out of my mind by focusing on other things. I left a few dents in concrete walls trying to get rid of them, instead I got a nasty headache! Both symptoms are still with me today but I have learnt how to cope with them and get on with life. They fluctuate in intensity but I just don't focus on them and press on. I have learnt how to drive with my vertigo but never get behind the wheel when I have strong flare ups. I use the cars mirrors instead of twisting the head, rotating the eyes and not the head to see about me, works for me. There are many weird and rediculous cures for both but I have never found anything to shut them out but my own mind focusing on something else.
Good luck
Cheers
I had a horrible bout of vertigo and had-no idea how it happened. But I used dramine to control outbreaks. And some nausea meds. I heard ringing from my ears. I could not walk. Had to stay on the ground with my eyes closed. It was horrible so I can’t imagine having to live like that. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. I’m praying for you to get some relief.
@eaoneill4771, @ce324,@cheyne. I’m sorry you all are experiencing these symptoms. Are you being treated for headaches or something else? I don’t know if there’s more to the discussion. I ask because I’m sitting here with vertigo thinking it’s a side effect of carbidopa-levodopa given for cervical dystonia.
Hi, guys, thanks for your kind response, I need to mention that I have a cronic headache for the last 15 years, Drs unsucessfully prescribed me with a differents meds, the last one: Venlafaxine, it didn't work, so the Dr. told me to stop taking it , that's when I started to have this Vertigo, Ratchet sound in my head plus the sadly customary 24 hours headache, this symptoms dissapeared when I restart the meds again, so, the lack of this useless Venlafaxine is creating the vertigo and the sound in the head, so it could be Withdrawal symptoms, the meds created an chemical imbalance, etc., so, I wonder if there is a way to resolve it , thanks

Hi,
Have you tried slowly reducing the medication?
Cheers
Yes, I did, from 75mg,36mg to 25mg-one pill but still didn't work, I remember that 10 years ago after a "total double knee replacement"surgery, the pain meds left me with a severe withdrawal, the Dr. sent me to Medicine Addiction Clinic, and It worked, but now I don't know,
@ce324
Hi, Could you not go through the same process as you did with the clinic? Is it worth cutting the pill for a smaller dose before finally stopping medication? 25mg seems like a big stop to me, but then I'm used to very small doses having a greater effect on me than is normal.
Cheers

Shortly after I started ed EMDI therapy, which can be very upsetting as you go through the trauma in your life. Shortly after that, I started hearing music in my head. Sometimes it is just a rhythm, other times it is whatever the last song I listen to, but usually just one line over and over again.
I don't know if this is related to my particular problem, but I would love to hear from anyone else who has experienced the same thing. Pat
