Undiagnosed Health Issues

Posted by @oysterholla in Brain & Nervous System, Aug 31, 2013

I am a 22 year old male and I have been having various health issues the last 5-6 months that have been undiagnosed so far. First I had pain in my left buttock region. Then I started having night sweats only on my legs. Then I started having pain in my right buttock region, in addition to the night sweats on my legs and left buttock pain. I had a low WBC count early on, though that has gone back up to normal. I have ruled out many infectious diseases, arthritis/joint stuff, gotten an MRI, CT scan, and X-Rays of the region showing nothing. In addition, I have had hip pain on both sides with my bones seeming to pop and not be as flexible as they used to be. The only abnormality in my blood testing has been a high Vitamin B12 level of over 1600. I've also been sick way more than ever in my life, 4 times in 8 months when normally it is once a year or so. If anyone has any input or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Increased vitamin B12 levels are uncommon. Usually excess vitamin B12 is removed in the urine.

Conditions that can increase B12 levels include:

Liver disease (such as cirrhosis or hepatitis)
Myeloproliferative disorders (for example, polycythemia vera and chronic myelocytic leukemia)
