Turp healing and gabapentin
I am on day 101 from Turp surgery. Had a slow and difficult healing journey until I suggested to dr to consult colleagues who encountered slow healing, burning and perineum pressure. He prescribed gabapentin 100 mg 3 times a day and this helped a lot. Now I am on week 5 of gabapentin and after a flare up started to have anxiety problems. Should I get of gabapentin?

Last year I had a construction accident that left me in a neck brace for 2 months and nerve pain from my shoulders down both arms and hands. I was on Gabapentin 100mg / 3 a day like yourself for several months when I began to hear other patients talking about side effects. As a general rule I'm not big on taking pain medications but the notion that there were side effects got me to do some research and a talk with my doctor. She told me that in she agreed that I should start weaning myself off slowly, doing it cold turkey has it's own side effects. Took me a couple of months to complete the process, first I started with 2 a day then a few of weeks later I cut it down to 1 a day and a month or so later eliminated the last pill a day. My nerve pain still persists mostly in my hands and forearms but has lessened some. I started to look for an alternative pain relief solution when my daughter steered me to a CBD cream. Each application last about 12 hours just enough to sleep without waking up in the middle of the night. The below link is what I use. It's a little expensive but doing a scheduled buy you can cut out about 20% of the cost.
