Total Hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy at age 29 due to multiple issues and now it feel like im having hot flashes . is that normal ? I take Thyroid meds but my numbers are norma

I don't believe thyroid meds are related to the hot flashes. They may be related to the loss of estrogen when your ovaries were removed. I'd recommend notifying your gynecologist or surgeon about your hot flashes and see what they suggest for you individually.

@sugarfree13 Have you talked with your gynecologist or primary care provider about your symptoms? The age of 53 seems about right for perimenopause in my experience but at that age I still had my ovaries (and uterus, fallopian tubes and cervix). My hysterectomy as post-menopausal.

When a total hysterectomy is done, the body immediately goes into menopause irregardless of age. Get a second opinion with an ob/gyn that understands both conditions. Check into starting HRT.
