TKR 10 MONTHS AND VERY STIFF
I HAD TKR 10 MONTHS AGO AND HAD GOOD RANGE OF MOTION, BUT VERY STIFF KNEE RESULTING IN A BAD LIMP. SURGEON SAID X-RAYS GREAT AND NOTHING TO DO. I STARTED SHOCK WAVE THERAPY WITH ELECTRIC ACCUPUNTURE ONCE A WEEK. 5 WEEKS LATER 50 PERCEENT BETTER.SURGEON SAID I MIGHT ALWAYS NEED A WALKER. NOW NO MORE WALKER.

A revision is when the surgeon has to go back in and make some kind of adjustment. Any time the surgeon has to re-enter the knee area to either replace it with a new one or to make refinements or adjustments. Here is an explanation from a hospital that is part of the Harvard complex:

Thanks so much Steve, this information is causing me to consider the other knee replacement (which also needs doing) rather than have the revision. Several points were raised that I hadn't realized.
