Time Out: How do you take a moment from caregiving for yourself?

Posted by Gratia @gratia, Jun 13 10:37am

Greetings everyone,
I wish you a peaceful weekend (even if it’s only moments of peace). I hope you have the opportunity to get outdoors with your loved one, a walk, in a yard or on a balcony. We are housebound here but I take walks alone when I get breaks and nature is my way of “resetting”.
Sending all of you virtual hugs & support.

I've been walking to @gratia - your pictures are always beautiful. We get to rest our minds in nature, and on this site. Happy Sunday to all. Best, Karla

Thanks for reminder.
Hugs from my two - They remind me that we need each other.

I had been a caregiver in one fashion or another for 60 + years. I even chose a care giving career. Now I have no one to care for except my cat. And myself.
It is a big adjustment.
One would think I would breathe a big sigh of relief. It does not seem that way.

Being outside in nature is healing for my soul. Keeps me sane. Walk most days and start everyday early before my loved one is awake for a quiet cup of coffee outside.

Yes I too enjoy the peaceful mornings.

@misseygirl Sure do get it. I was a teacher for many years. Loved being with my kids. Now, my husband is childlike, some days, and NO, it sure isn’t the same .
