Thoracic spine fractures

Posted by sue417 @sue417, 5 days ago

Hi
This is the second time my thoracic spine has fractured since stopping radiation treatment in April 2024. All three vertebrae have refractured t8, t9, t10. I am struggling to get an appointment with my endocrinologist I sent the report the information for the x-ray they can get from the hospital I've left three messages to get an appointment and all I get is an email saying they can offer me nothing but a change in meds this is such disgusting care. I am in Canada. I've never had this much struggle to get an appointment. I have been on zoldronic acid for 4 years.

I had both T-11 and T-12 compression fractures, also osteoporosis. Endocrinologist ordered Envenity for 12 months, got a 4.6% improvement in bone density which still has me in osteopenia state- which he was happy with. Now I do a prolia injection every 6 months to maintain.

How's the prolia injection going do you have any kind of side effects from it who gives it to you your doctor? I've just read so much about prolia on terrified and I want to take a bone builder first but then it is out of the question for tail I couldn't take it gave me severe joint pain Tymlos I have no coverage for. If I ever get my appointment this month I'm going to ask if he can put in the special request to get the tymlos approved. But I don't know if I'll have the same side effects from it that I had with forteo
