Mayo does have a way to help you! I encourage you to check out http://www.mayoclinic.org/pain-rehabilitation-center-rst/patients.html and to give them a call. It is worth taking a look at, since they use some pretty non-standard (in the sense that they’re doing a lot more than just handing you a few pills that may or may not work – in fact part of what they do is reduce/eliminate unnecessary/harmful medications). They’ll work with you on ways to get back to living the kind of life that’s rich and rewarding, and show you a lot of ways to do that even when the pain is severe.

Hang in there! I can certainly empathize directly, though my pain results from a different issue, with a lot of what you’re saying. It can be so debilitating and really seem like there’s just nothing for it.

Turns out, there is!
