Hi @sebley12, Welcome back to Connect. And what great news about your in person support group in Clinton Township, Michigan. Congratulations and thanks for inviting everyone.
I added the location to your original message. You’ll also notice that I removed your email address. We prefer that people use the private message function to contact people directly. We don’t want you to get unwanted spam. It is safer to share your email address by private message. To private message Selby, simply click her @username and then click the envelope icon.

How long have you been running your support group Selby? The picture look like you have fun as well as share support and information.

Thank you so much Colleen. I have been a support group leader now for over 10 years at what started out to be a Scleroderma group from the Michigan Chapter. Although their were many many members that came in that had more than just Scleroderma, they had Sjogren’s, Tangelectacious, Raynauds, Lupus, Hashimotos, Multiple Sclerosis, Anemias, Thyroiditis, Graves disease, Dermamatomyositis, Psoriasis, R.A. Diabetes, and the list goes on and on! There are over 100 autoimmune related diseases and so I have opened up a support group in the local Detroit Clinton Twp area for those who have more than one overlapping disease. I provide speakers who come in to these meetings to educate at every event. Refreshments and informational pamphlets are also provided. We are all about bringing public and national awareness to over 100 autoimmune related diseases as they are just as devastating as Cancer and Heart failure. Our meetings are upbeat and always fun and best of all they are free. Helping people is what I love doing most.
Thank you so very much.

I wish you could also! We are actually the first support group for Autoimmune Diseases in the Nation! I am very proud to lead this group as we definitley need more groups to branch out. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer leader such as myself please visit http://www.aarda.org. I love this nonprofit organization as it has helped me tremendously with all 8 of my autoimmune diseases. They truly understand how it all works.
