Stealing due to a head injury?

Posted by Anonymous-a8482835 in Brain & Nervous System, Jul 12, 2012

I am a 48 year old woman who is dealing with my second case of stealing from my employer. The behavior started 8 years ago after I fell off my bike, hit my head. I woke up with Bells Palsy symptoms the next morning and increased headaches throughout the day. I went to the ER and on the CAT scan they found a calcified 2cm left frontal lesion, internally calcified. In the research I have found the area that is affected is linked to the ability to impulse control and the inability to think through the consequences of actions. My question is what can I do or take to make this stop. I don't want to go to jail. I have never displayed this type of behavior prior to my accident. Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Dear Anonymous .... I'm not a law enforcement officer, but I would think if you have an actual physical condition that caused this, you would not be prosecuted. If you have not seen a therapist, please, please, do so. You may also need some form of medication to help you control this impulse. I hate to see you get into this deeper if it can be prevented. Please make a call to your doctor today. Let us know how you are. OK? Promise?
