Start Up Pain?

Posted by jrs0303 @jrs0303, Jul 1 8:23am

Just wondering… 3 mos out of partial
(medial) replacement. Walking is fine. “Start Up” after sitting, lying down, is incredibly painful, to the point that I must hold onto something to steady myself. First and second follow up appts all looked good. Was told it will go away. Painful waiting period for surgery to take place, now 3 more months of pain is getting frustrating. Anyone experience this as well?

Perhaps seeing a certified rehab specialist for additional PT might help. They could palpate the area for tenderness and watching you rise up to demonstrate what’s happening, could hopefully pinpoint which muscle/ligament/tendon area is not healing as fast as it could, and design specific stretching exercises for that area.

Try not to get frustrated it can take 6 months before you get relief. It was 5.5 months before I was released for work. Continue PT at home just continue to be mobile and don’t loose hop
