Spinal Fusion from C2 to T12

Has anyone had this type of surgery for hyper kyphosis? If so how did you do? My husband is scheduled for January 14th to have it done. He has go in a week before surgery to have a Halo put on for stretching the spine. He’s 75 years old. Just wondering if anyone had any feed back on this.
