Spasticity?
I have been living in my recliner for over 5 years as this muscle spasticity keeps me from walking more than a few feet! It's due to stopping a Benzo with a 5 week taper and 3 neurologists have done nothing for me! Anyone find something to help?( I even had Botox and it did nothing)

Will I do the test on Jan. 14, I have not been told if there is some time or how much time I will need to say YES or NO I want the pump. If I say YES then I go to the hospital they do the surgery to place the pump in my side. I under stand that at that time they will set the timer for the dose and I will be ready to go home. That is as far as I have gotten in my research, the rest I will just have to see. Hope that answers all of your questions!
Thank you, @sharonalllen, I do hope you find some relief!

I to have had Spasticity for a couple of years. I finally found a Dr. that specializes in stroke rehab. I have since been told that there is one and only one relief from Spasticity and that is Baclophen, however with oral Baslophen only 30% reaches the brain to relax the muscles, therefore the only way to achieve complete relief, if possible in a BACLOPHEN PUMP, this is what I am going Ft. Worth, Tex. for on the 10th of January. My explanation comes from reasearch of Spacticity for the past week. Do you research on Baclophen pumps and Baclophen as well as Spacticity! Good luck, it is a terrible way to live, I am fighting to get back on my feet and walk again.
What are the medicines that help as other than another benzo, all I tried made it worse, like dantrolene .flexeril ,and backlofen.
I remember reading a paper by a psychiatrist in the 80 s that used 100 mg of tryptophan with remarkable claimed results for restless leg syndrome you might give it a try and then start therapy right away if you have been immobile that long
Make sure your magnesium levels are within normal limits. We don't get enough magnesium. Magnesium depletion can give you pain and spasms. Take enough until you experience diarrhea and then stop. That should tell you how much to take. I take 300 mg daily.

I have never been told anything about 100 mg of tryptophan what is it and why would I take it?
The product that helped with Benzo withdrawals ,the oil, could you provide info on ordering it as if you rub in in on the affected muscles it even helps with anixiaty ? I would just need a small bottle to see it it helps.
When all else fails try acupuncture it worked for me

Hello Sharon,
I was wondering how you are feeling.
I see in a previous post that earlier this month you were going to Ft. Worth Texas to look into a Baclofen Pump. I hope that appointment was helpful.
If you are comfortable doing so, would you update me?
