Sometimes my heart hurts. I'm on Erleada

I've been on ADT for two years and take licorice periodically. Three days ago, I started having occasional heart palpitations. Constant pressure surges while taking Erleada. 49 old.

Strongly suggest you get to a cardiologist, preferably a Cardio-Oncologist. Heart rhythm issues are a known side effect of apalutamide. You may need a different med but, you definitely need some heart rhythm monitoring to see what's up. Palpitations and pressure are no bueno. Get to the Dr. please.

My cardio-oncologist vetoed Erleada due to the cardiac side effect profile. (I was already a heart failure patient.) Nubeqa was prescribed instead.

get your doc to put you on Nybeqa- it is much easier on you..I could not tolerate Erleada ( sounds like a ghetto naMe!)

Fortunately, Jeff marchi on this site recommended nubeqa to me and turned my whole ADT exp around...I just finished 1 yr ADT and my PSA is staying undetectable..but a yr ago I was a mess with heart palpatations and no sleep..but after getting off erleada, ( started nubeqa instead) then things became much more tolerable !

@denis76 Mist probably linked to ADT, but licorice is well known to cause palpitations as well.
I would definitely stop that immediately and after a week or so, see if the palpitations
continue.

@mjp0512 mention cardio-oncology. Major cancer centers like Mayo Clinic offer expertise in addressing heart problems (called cardio-oncology), potential or current issues. At Mayo, the Cardio-Oncology Clinic (https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/cardio-oncology-clinic/overview/ovc-20442193) evaluates people prior to cancer treatment and patients who have experienced side effects due their treatment.

Have you talked to your oncologist about the heart palpitations? Was a different medication suggested?
