Shoulder and arm pain

Posted by frane1939 @frane1939, Apr 17, 2012

I have recently started having pain in my arms and across my shoulders when walk which is my form of exercise. It seems worse when I swing my arms. I hold my arms up bent and the elbows and the pain seems to lessen but does not go away. I also play golf and experience some discomfort in my shoulders. Any one else have anything like this? Would love to hear from anyone with information.
Things I have googled kind of scare me. I am 72 and female.

Hello,
You sound amazing. I'm in my mid 40's and am not as active as you. I would recommended seeing a doctor right away. I'm not trying to alarm you but shoulder and arm pain can be symptoms of cardiac issues or perhaps in golfing you injured yourself.
You are a role model for the rest of us so let's ensure that your symptoms are not being caused by anything too serious.
Sincerely,
Roxie

You can get a fairly inexpensive shoulder brace online and see if that helps at all. Sometimes the stabilization and heat from the neoprene can jumpstart the body's natural healing process. One that my patients have had success with is this one: http://www.eganmedical.com/Neoprene-Shoulder-Support-p/orbs-16-500.htm . If that fails, there's always Biofreeze. If that fails, there's always the orthopedist....
