I am hoping someone out there can help us. My husband (63) has been getting debilitating headaches for over a year now. They come on very fast, last anywhere from a minute or so to fifteen and can last hours if he doesn't stop what he is doing and sit, they occur up to 20 xs a day. We have seen a neurologist who has prescribed Topiramate, magnesium, and CO Q-10 with the hope of altering the way the pain is perceived by the brain. This has not helped after a month. He has also prescribed Tramadol to stop the pain but this has not worked, it makes him feel loopy but the pain is still present. A CAT scan shows no abnormalities, his sinuses are clear, all blood work looks good. He does have elevated blood pressure for which he takes Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide; these meds have his blood pressure perfect. The only other medication he takes is Prevacid.
If anyone has any ideas please send them our way.
