Rise on CA 125

1 Reactionkelan the doubling of CA125 could suggest recurrence, but chemotherapy can cause CA125 to rise. I think they want three rises within four months. Other inflammatory factors can cause the rise. I'd call the doctor tomorrow in your situation in case they haven't looked at your results. I suspect you will be retested.
Hope it's the chemo.

1 Reaction@kelan0311, CA-125 is a test that may be used to look for early signs of ovarian cancer or to monitor response to treatment or recurrence. During treatment, some doctors recommend a CA 125 test on a regular basis to monitor your condition and treatment. But such monitoring hasn't been shown to improve the outcome for those with ovarian cancer, and it might lead to additional and unnecessary rounds of chemotherapy or other treatments. Other non-cancerous things like inflammation, menstruation, fibroids, can cause a rise in tumor markers.
