Ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding - RT IS OVER for Mr. Surf !
Today was the last day of RT for Mr. Surf 🥂😃!!!
He got to ring the bell, of course, and he even got “diploma” which was really a sweet touch. He had very caring and highly competent RT crew and his RO was amazing too. They met every single week to go over vitals and to discuss possible SAs and every day RO checked CT to make sure that all of the organs and RT field were in the correct position before VMAT would even start. I am very critical person (*ehem …) because I am perfectionist by nature but I truly can not find a single fault in how was all RT process organized or performed. 🧿
Only time will tell if RT had desired and expected result, but for now we are very happy and relieved that this crazy daily schedule is over and that he went through this all without any significant side effects.
The only thing that he experienced was some night time urgency in the last week of RT but it was resolved by AZO supplement (one with soy and pumpkin seeds). He is going to have another blood test next week ( he has one every month) to check all metabolic parameters and blood count and I hope that his red and white blood cell count will not be greatly effected 🙏 .
Since he had to go through both procedures in the span of one year (RP and RT) and had almost no SAs from either, many who are trying to decide what to choose as the first step might wonder how he compares those two and what would he choose if both had the same results - it would be RP. Unfortunately his PC was already out of the gland at the time of surgery and RP was not a solution for him. : (
Hope this helps new members and wishing everybody wonderful rest of the year and super successful treatments (whichever you have). For those that are in remission - may you stay there forever 🍀✨ : ))))

2 ReactionsWow. That is so cool.
Very happy for both of you.
And look at you... throwing in all those acronyms.
Kinda sad that we have to learn so much, out of necessity.
Love a bit of great news around here.
Of course, everyone would be grateful if you could hang around to offer others advice or share experiences.
You'll see lots of "what's (this procedure) going to be like?"

5 ReactionsThanks all for well wishing and congrats 🥰🤗 - means a lot <3 !!!
We are still little bit dazed today and look at each other every hour or so and ask "can you believe that we are done with RT" ?! I think that we both will need couple of days to really start relaxing and "get the memo" that regiment is over 😋 lol !
@peterj116 , awwwee, thanks <3 ! I will definitely be around - it is not so easy to get rid of "miss know it all" he he heeee, who else will keep you guys in check ; ) ?!
Joking to the side, if I can be of some help I would be glad to stay here.
BTW, how is "down there" ??? I mean IN AUSTRALIA , c-c-c-c *eyeroll !!! 😜
The spring is coming, I guess : )))

6 Reactions@surftohealth88 Australia's probably nice. Haven't been there in a while. I'm in New Zealand. Not far from Hobbiton (which is a real place).
Spring is coming - along with daylight saving & another hot Christmas at the beach.

3 ReactionsCongratulations! Proof that sometimes all is well in PC world. We just had another test and the PSA was again .04. Doc says we’re good for now and it’s okay to live life however we feel is best for us. So we’re headed for Hawaii.

7 ReactionsI would concur that RP over radiation is easier and with fewer SA's. My tech's burned me and the struggle has been real over 16 months post treatment.

2 ReactionsSo incredibly happy for you two. You've been a godsend of great advice and support during my RP journey. We're all family in one way or another in this journey. So glad you were the amazing advocate for your husband. Bet you never thought you'd adopt all of us too. So glad you did!
Take a deep breath, then breathe again. Look for whatever you haven't had time to do in your life and give that a go. I've gone from 24/7 relentless focus on treatment choices/surgery/recovery to a few new adventures.
Congrats again!!
