Retinal Detachment (long term)

Posted by @khall in Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat, Nov 21, 2011

Hi all, I've had retinal detachment in right eye for more than 30 yrs. I see nothing really in that eye. I am wondering what I may experience in the yrs to come. I feel less comfortable with it as the yrs go by. Its smaller than my good eye, it feels bothersome most days, although no sharp pain or anything. Would I feel better having it removed?? What happens to the optical nerve when an eye is removed??Will the sight in my good eye be affected?? Many questions. Maybe someone has experience they can share. Thanks, Khall
