Not possible to tolerate these legs anymore. Any suggestions, treatment?

@hamzehlou I was hoping I’d find some discussion of restless leg syndrome here. Mine was pretty mild until 8 months ago when I was diagnosed with a brain lesion. When I could stand the sensations in my legs (and hands and arms, on bad days), I told my doctor I needed something, anything. There are two prescription drugs, ropinerole and mirapex . I’ve used ropinerole-required- and it worked very well. It does interfere with one of my other drugs so not sure how long I’ll take it. Good luck to you!

@becsbuddy – sounds like your symptoms from restless legs syndrome really increased after your diagnosis. Thanks for sharing that ropinerole has worked very well for you. Have you experienced any side effects at all?

@krissylamb – are your restless legs syndrome symptoms still doing better since you applied the buprenorphine skin patch?

Here is some Mayo Clinic information on the type of patch you mentioned https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/buprenorphine-transdermal-route/description/drg-20074363.

@lisalucier Yes, the ropinerole has worked very well and I only take 1mg. Actually, I cut down to 0.5 mg because I was doing well. Unfortunately, the ropinerole interacts with my depressant and gives me a foggy head. I may have to stop taking or realize the foggiest can be coped with better than RLS! No other side effects.

I have restless legs very bad but my dr says it is not RLS but rather the remnants of encephalitis I had many years ago. I am taking 1mg of klonopin but I want to start weaning from that. As I do, I plan to take a magnesium supplement and melatonin plus essential oils on my legs at night

@bk63 That’s good that it’s the remnants of an old disease and you can wean off Klonopin! Mine used to be mild until I got CLIPPERS disease.😫 But, I'll keep working on it. Too bab all the leg moving doesn’t translate into exercise for weight loss! Becky
