Restless leg syndrom
I have restless leg syndrom. It is mainly controled by a multivitamine and magnesium. About 8 months ago I started having involuntary tremors in my Lt. leg. I first noticed it when I was sitting putting on my walking boots or when I was sitting with the main pressure on my right leg. This could happen any time of day, but not at night and I was able to make it stop. My Dr. told me it was part of the restless leg syndrom. I now experience it when I am standing still. Has anyone with RLS esperineced tremors like this? I have so far avoided taking perscription medication for the RLS.

Hello -
I am unsure if you are aware of this but Mayo Clinic has some information available online about RLS: http://www.mayoclinic.org/restless-legs-syndrome/.

I downright jerk all over. Sometimes violently. Sometimes while awake , sometime while I’m asleep. Sometimes it wakes me up and my ex said I use to do it my sleep. This is a horrid syndrome for me, I refer to it as torture. Only it isn’t just in my legs. It’s all over my body.
I don’t really jerk. My left leg just has fine to gross tremmors.
Yes. They wound up putting me on Requip XR 8 mgs in the morning and 2 mg IR before bed. It’s more that RLS. Tell your doctor so.
My doctor gave the Requip to me but I’m nervouse about taking it. Did it help and did you have any bad side affects?
No Side effects at all. And mine was rediagnosed as as a resting tremor, which may be what is happening to you. It’s an autonomic nervous system breakdown. Mayo has been great about helping me manage them. Requip is definitely the best thing out there. Some Dr.’s beliefs are that RLS is a deficiency in Magnesium or Potassium; however, many of their recent studies have found this to be erratic in findings. Hope this helps.
I appreciate the info. RLS and leg pain runs in one side of the family “all women”, I’m the first man to have it and it is driving me nuts. FD
My symptoms begain with waking in middle of night, walking and/or exercising to move legs. -I have been taking Requip, but find dosage needs to be increased occasionally.. Has anyone found that stopping caffiene products helped relieve RLS.
Diet can be a major factor (ex sugar can make it act up very badly in me) . Possibly, there is a low level of dopamine in the brain and certain foods and exercise can help..
