Posted by barjcas @barjcas, Jun 7, 2023

Hello, I had a Reclast infusion and 24 hours later I started with Tinnitus. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Oh no!!!! I am so sorry. Please let us know if it improves.

I am already tormented at times by tinnitus and am facing Reclast in July. It is also bad for my kidneys. But a risk of increased tinnitus is really scary.

I got a reclast infusion on October 29th and my tinnitus tripled and loudness and hasn't stopped. Also both of my hands where I have arthritis in and my wrist swelled up like balloons it hurt too much for me to touch my pointer finger to my thumb on both hands. So finally after 3 days my doctor told me to go to an emergency room they gave me prednisone and in a day or so the swelling started going down but then I started getting sick and didn't eat anything for 8 days and I lost 35 pounds. Also my knee with the knee replacement has felt swollen inside and I've been having trouble walking.

I received a Reclast infusion and immediately developed very loud tinnitus. It is indeed discouraging. My rheumatologist said, through his staffer, that "he doesn't think it's because of the Reclast, but you should take a Reclast holiday next year." No kidding! A lifetime holiday. I will not risk making the tinnitus even worse.
(I should add that a relative of mine also received Reclast very recently, and did not develop tinnitus.)
