Quotes that give you something when you recall them.

People take to heart and preserve quotations of things they hear from others which they find of value in some way. It doesn't have to be a quote from someone famous, highly educated, or in any way special, although it often is. Additionally though, some of the most valuable quotes I've found have come from writers via characters in books and movies, and sometimes from some obscure source known only to me and perhaps heard only one time.
Now is a good time to draw on these things we have saved to ourselves and savor whatever value we might see in them. Here is a thread where you can share them with us so we might each find some value in them.

''Welcome to President Bush, Mrs. Bush, and my fellow astronauts.''

Ah, so there's your internet problem…….

''The internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck. It's a series of tubes. And if you don't understand, those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.''

—Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Steven (R-AK), explaining the workings of the Internet during a debate on net neutrality

No they're not. There's an endless supply of this stuff. Thought these (and other quotes) might give people something to laugh about, or if someone has something motivational, please post it.

A couple of quotes from Dwight Eisenhower:

"Leadership consists of nothing but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well."

"If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power."
