Question at end. Just stressed, in pain, and clueless.
SOOO SORRY SO LONG. Honestly this is a very shortened better happier version. I was diagnosed through mammogram last yr 4/25 with a lumb in right breast. 10 cm upper right quadrant. (Its been all down hill since) I honestly don't know stage, alphabets or anything. All i heard was CANCER and i could no longer take estrogen. I had a lumpectomy in June 2025 and when they took the bandage off the 1st time the area was black. They said it was bruised at 1st but as the weeks kept going it kept getting worse only answer I would get is it's normal we're used to this. Well by Sept I decided to see a wound doc because all the plastic surgeon did was put me on a wound vac and put me in the hands of home health. And the wound kept getting worse and smelling like dead fish. Soon as I was finally almost healed (bell rang & all) I had 6 wks radiation. I finished by Thanksgiving. Maybe 3 wks later I was back at wound doc now fighting radiation burn. After every cream, salve, cloth med, and 52 wks of hyperbarics. We thought it was getting better NOPE started tunneling. So August we decided to cut the burn out and get to healthy tissue. Ended up with 6 cm x 3 cm kiddy pool circle cut in breast back on wound vac. We thought it was healing good but nooo. Small hole ended up being 2.5 cm deep rest is around maybe 1/2 cm deep. And from 2.5 length down to a little over 5 cm. Sorry after all that I see my oncologist Tuesday. Any questions, suggestions, test, snything. Between brain fog, no memory, and freezing in front of him. I am trying writing sanything. Thank yall very much. Again sorry so long

Immediate Focus for Tuesday:
Tissue Biopsy
The most urgent priority for your visit is requesting a tissue biopsy of the wound bed and edges.
When a radiation wound continues to tunnel, deepen, or fail to heal after standard treatments and hyperbaric oxygen, doctors must formally rule out two possibilities:
Recurrent or persistent breast cancer: Cancer cells in the wound bed can prevent normal healing.
Severe Radiation Necrosis / Vasculitis: High-dose radiation can destroy micro-blood vessels, leaving deep tissue without the oxygen needed to heal.
Questions to Ask Your Oncologist
1. About the Non-Healing Wound
"Can we perform a tissue biopsy of the deep wound bed and edges to rule out local recurrence or infection?"
"Are we dealing with severe radiation necrosis, and should I be evaluated by a specialized reconstructive plastic surgeon or a dedicated wound care team that works with complex radiation injury?"
"Has a deep wound culture been taken recently to test for specific resistant bacteria or fungal growth in the tunneled area?"
2. "What is my current systemic treatment plan, given that my wound has prevented normal recovery?"
3. About Surgical & Advanced Healing Options
"If hyperbaric oxygen and wound vacs are failing, are we at the point where a tissue flap (moving healthy, well-vascularized skin/muscle from another part of the body) is needed to close this wound?"
"Should we pause or adjust any current treatments until this tissue gets healthy blood flow?"
I have to admit these questions were created by Google Gemini. I know some people don’t like AI supported searches and analysis but it has hit on some important things that might be helpful to you!

2 Reactions@lanca Actually, I just copied and pasted exactly what you wrote in to the AI window, and asked what was suggested next steps. I just use simple Google Gemini at gemini.google.com
When a topic is important I always check the references used by the AI. It sometimes uses an unknown clinic or a “doctor”. If I’m unsure of the resource I will double check the answer with websites I think provide accurate info.
Best wishes at your appointment!

4 ReactionsI'm sorry you're going thru all of this! Prayers for healing! I strongly suggest taking one or two other people with you, family or friends, to help listen, understand and raise questions!! I totally understand the brain fog! It is hard to take in all that the doctors say, so having someone with you to help take notes and ask questions has helped me!! Don't be afraid to ask them to simplify and speak in "english" until you are comfortable with the plan and understand your options!
Prayers for healing and success on the rest of your journey

2 ReactionsI would see a top medical malpractice attorney, ASAP. It is hard enough having breast cancer, or any other traumatic disease, and then having to go through so much pain and suffering, because of such incompetence. I understand.

1 ReactionI'm so sorry the healing is not progressing faster. I have heard of a product named Juven, rather expensive , but the product provides the body with nutrients to heal. Google the product and ask your doctors about it. May you find something joyful to do every day.
Juven is a medical food that is manufactured by Abbott Laboratories and used to provide nutritional support under the care of a physician in individuals with muscle wasting due to AIDS or cancer, to promote wound healing following surgery or injury, or when otherwise recommended by a medical professional. It is a powdered nutritional supplement that contains 3 grams of calcium β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate, 14 grams of L-arginine, and 14 grams of L-glutamine per two daily servings Continued in Wikipedia
