Did anyone change to drinking purified water from spring water and was there any improvement?

When I first moved into our home three years ago and was having some situations with my ckd I decided to have our well water tested. The test didn't turn out bad but my husband and I wanted to do even better. We phoned a company to come in and discuss benefits/side effects/bad things with reverse osmosis water compared to spring water and purified water. When he tested the well water it fell within acceptable limits for salt and various minerals. When he tested the purified water it didn't fare so well. Spring water had the best test. He let us know that in water softened water it had the equivalent of a tsp. of salt in it. The reverse osmosis water had the equivalent of a slice of bread and the spring water was less of all of it. So, when the reverse was installed we decided to use it for cooking and spring water for drinking. I'm not certain if that helps you but just information to pass on. Have a great day and let me know if you learn of any pros or cons in your research.

Tap water is usually good; you can get test results from the State or have it tested yourself for salts, metals, pollutants, and such. Water purification/filtration should improve water quality. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA, so quality is important.

After my partial nephrectomy Oct 2024, I asked my Mayo surgeon about our private well water, due to its high mineral content. He said it was not a concern for my kidneys.
