Psoriatic Arthritis and Humira

Posted by @colton97 in Healthy Living, May 11, 2012

Im suppose to be starting humira this summer to help with my psoriatic. I am on methotrexate injections (chemo) at this time and will continue those also while on humira. Is there anyone who has or is taking humira for this type of arthritis? Please let me know the outcome.

My son and a close friend have psorasis/psoratic arthritis. My son's case is mild. My friend has multilans psoratic arthritis and reached to point of fingers and toes crippling. She went on Humira injections 2+ years ago. Her side effects include chronic sinus infections, staph infections from cuts, rentless leg syndrome, leg cramps, headaches, and fatigue. However, the pain and crippling have stopped as well as the psorasis and she states she would not go off the drug unless life threatening.

I have psoriatic arthritis and my rheumo tells me at every visit I will need to go on methotrexate but in the next visit she delays it again. My health is so good and my pain is significantly reduced since I changed my diet and lifestyle. May I suggest, just for a few months you try something? It could turn your life around. Take all wheat and dairy out of your life for three months and see the difference. Get some glutamine and take 1 tsp am & pm for 6 months to heal your gut.
