Post illness flare

Posted by spainishlady @spainishlady, Oct 26, 2022

Hello
Has anyone had a Flare following on from an unrelated illness ? My husband and I recently had a bad meal which resulted in a nasty food poisoning , he recovered in 3 days but I am now 7 days and while the Gastro issues are resolving I feel utterly exhausted and can’t shake it off . Very similar to the way I felt in June this year when diagnosed with PMR . I am currently taking 10 mg of Prednisolone which I have been taking for 4 weeks .
Be grateful for your comments guys .
Thanks

@spanishlady Hello- Sorry to hear your food poisoning has caused your PMR to flare. I don't have PMR, but have other inflammatory issues, and any small blip in my health can cause what seems like a major flare. Our bodies seem to always be operating on the edge of crisis so it is not unusual. I can usually count on an extra one or two weeks of pain and fatigue after something as simple as a cold.

I hope you will begin to feel better soon, but if not, it might be time to contact the doc for a temporary increase in the prednisolone.
