PMR starting shortly after peri-menopause/menopause - HRT effective

My PMR started approximately 2 weeks after I was diagnosed with menopause. Have been on Prednisone and Methotrexate for few years. Side effects - osteoporosis, weight gain, tendon tear, etc. Started with HRT (patches) three weeks ago - 90% improvement in symptoms - side-effect free.....
Anyone else with similar experience? Why didn't my rheumatologist(s) tell me PMR could be caused by menopause? Nor my gynecologist(s).
