PLEASE HELP~!! 47 year old needing advice!

Posted by @georgejohnson807 in Diabetes/Endocrine System, Oct 30, 2012

I just went to the Cardiologist and was told that I was at high risk for coronary heart disease. I have high blood pressure and diabetes. I workout 4 times a week for at least an hour and have been active my whole life. I am afraid I am going to have a heart attack in the next few months because my dad died at age 45 from a heart attack. I have a family and want to be around for a long time. Please provide me with some direction as far as lifestyle changes to prevent this from progressively getting worse.

hi should take immediately the following steps:
- regular moderate exercise 2-3 times a week, ex walking for half an hour.
- stop smoking, or smoke less than 5 cigarettes per day.
- reduce to minimum eating high-fat food, table salt and sugar.
- check fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides and ECG regularly.
- keep body weight at standard levels according to height and age.
- take, under medical supervision, daily prophylactic aspirin 100 mg and Omega-3 tablets.
I wish you healthy long live. Regards.
