Penis pain

Posted by @firstborn58 in Men's Health, Oct 29, 2012

I recently began experiencing sudden, intermittent pain on the left side of my penis; a deep but also sharp ache that occurs every ten minutes or so and lasts about five seconds. The events do not seem connected to the urethra, as I have no discomfort during urination or ejaculation---it definitely feels to be localized in the flesh of the left side.

I don't know if it's related, but I've also had (for the first time in memory) some problems maintaining an erection the last couple of times I've had intercourse. It has not been painful, simply unusual.

For the record, I am 54, extremely active and healthy, non-smoker. I was diagnosed with genital herpes thirty years ago. Anyone recognize this one?
