Paroxysmal (lone) afib

Posted by @snowfire58 in Just Want to Talk, Jul 7, 2012

I am a basically healthy 66 year old female. I had an episode 3 years ago diagnosed as Atrial Fibrillation and another episode 6 months later. Both times required an overnite stay at the hospital and I was given a type of bloodthinner in and IV and 'converted' to normal sinus rhythm on my own both times. I have not had a reoccurance of full blown afib since but I do have episodes of irregular heartbeats, particularly when I'm at rest. I was prescribed a beta blocker for a time then another Cardiologist took me off that and prescribed Digoxin. Still had episodes and went to another Cardiologists and he took me off Digoxin and prescribed Multaq about 1 1/2 years ago. I am 'antsy' about the Multaq due to some bad press. For whatever reason, the last week I have had a lot more irregular activity and just really wonder if anyone else out there has been diagnosed with this condition and how you have dealt with it. Are there any folks who may also be taking Multaq and have it helped you? Everything I've researched on my diagnosed condition indicates it is not generally life threatening but can be quite disrupting. Any comments or info anyone can supply would be welcomed. It helps so much to know someone else is dealing with the same issues. Thanks
