Parkinson's and Any non-medicine treatments.
My PT told me this morning that he has had some Parkinson's patients that are using things from health stores, but he couldn't remember what they were. Does anyone have any ideas? He thought one of them started with a B. I have very recently been diagnosed with PD (3 months) although looking back, I think I have had it for several years.

CoQ10 ? I take 200 mg per day.
I was also diagnosed with Parkinsons about 10 months ago at age 78. I had several symptoms for 20 + years, and was blaming them on my already diagnosed Ishemic heart disease and Hypothyroidism. Then my wife watched me walking out to the mailbox and back. She consulted Dr Google and told me I was walking stooped forward and not swinging my arms. She said thats probably being caused by Parkinsons Disease. Then I Googled the Dr and learned I have most of the symptoms of Parkinsons Disease. It took almost 5 months to get an appointment with a good Neurologist that specializes in Parkinsons Disease. He confirmed my diagnoses on my first office visit. In addition to the three Rx meds he prescribed, I'm taking OTC non Rx meds. Mostly vitamins, as well as minerals zinc, selenium, potassium, and magnesium.
Also Melatonin just before bed to help me get to sleep.

I have been using the beech band. it is a wearable device like a watch that helps control/eliminate tremors. google beech band and do some research. the man that invented it in the UK has suffered with Parkinson's for years. I am very pleased with the result and I use quite frequently. I'm starting to use it to see if it helps with other symptoms. my wife said just use it for everything--can't hurt. after I wear it for a while my symptoms esp. tremors go away for a long time.
My neurologist recommended CoQ10 to help ease the side effects of C/L.
@barryl WOW!! You got a neuro appt and diagnosis in 5 mos! Most of us struggled for years,

you do NOT need a smart phone for the beech band. However, I think they are developing one that can be used with the smart phone. The ones I have you wear like a watch and push a button, and it vibrates sends a pulse like a heartbeat. very simple
here is what my Beech Band looks like
I hope you're not disheartened seeing not what u r asking for: Non-Med ways, or one might say: LIFESTYLE solutions. There are aplenty! Indeed I'm surprised you cud not find it over the internet From Reliable Sources: it's PHYSICAL Activity!
In fact the first time I found about it was how an Elite Athlete had gotten it because what? He retired because not good enough to stay in the top, but sure still better than maybe 99% of us physically. It was his sedentary lifestyle that a doctor had to tell him causing his PD. Something you'd think at least an athlete wud know!
So even Mayo site tells us so, as do many other academic ones.
It's unfortunate physical exertion often disappears as soon as we're even a teenager.
Nature is our ally; at 83 I can vouch that likely my sensible dose of physical activity has kept me from many old age issues. But not all. That's fine. Old age will bring its impairments. Let's do Our Part. Balanced Food, optimal exertion, and healthy social, psychological, spiritual lives helps a lot.
Good Luck!
P.S. Love to hear your progress!
