Hi @memayo! Do you mean parathyroid or thyroid surgery? If parathyroid, I have had three and 1/2 removed in 3 surgeries over 15 years and aside from a little soreness for a day or so, have had no other trouble. My hyperparathyroidism tends to recur due to MEN1 (a genetic condition).
Thanks,
- Matt

1 ReactionLife is great if you have the best surgeons doing it otherwise you might get a surgeon who can’t find these little rice size glands. My wife went to the Norman parathyroid hospital in Tampa Florida and it was the best surgery she ever had. That’s all this hospital does is parathyroid surgery with the top surgeons in the world. She had surgery in the morning and was back to the hotel by noon eating lunch. It was a great experience!

1 ReactionDoing well then at 6 weeks starting with hip and leg pain. Doing calcium and Tums. I feel like I'm going back wards.😞
@memayo - did they do any follow up blood work since the surgery? I had one right after each surgery looking at Calcium and pTH and then again 4 weeks after to look for trending.
