Pain is a very real part of life on this earth. We must only look at the life of Christ to see that He suffered both physical, mental, and emotional pain. He had to do this in order to totally understand each of us and the realities of our lives. He knew that we would have challenges that would cause great pain, but because of His promise at the time of creation to give man free will we all may suffer at the hands of others, as well as from our own misunderstandings of the priorities of life. Many of my challenges are the result of mistreatment by others, and the Lord in keeping His promise did not stop them. However, He has given me the strength, courage and will to face each challenge as it comes and to find a way to deal with it and remain close to him. One of them is rather amusing, I have fibromyalgia and because of certain medications can take nothing for it. Therefore I find I must take at least two hot baths a day in order to find comfort from the pain and to calm the RLS which I also have. I have found these warm baths to be theraperutic both physically and mentally, they have helped to reduce stress and anxiety in my life and give me time each day to be away from the world in which I must live. I advise anyone with chronic pain to try a warm bath with a full length bath mat and a drain cover so that the water can be really deep. Play a little music as well. These stress relievers have worked for me and are much better than becoming addicted to a narcotic pain reliever.
