What should I expect for recovery time after getting my pacemaker on which I am dependent?

Hi.. I had an ICD placement in January and although emotional wise, I am still recovering, physically it took my body about 6 weeks to fully recover from the surgery. I am still having problems with medication adjustment. Good luck.. hope everything works out for you.

thanks for your reply. It has been three/four weeks for me and it is going so slow to get back energy level that I wanted to check with others to see how it went with them. THis site is going to be a good thing for me.
Luckily I do not have med issue as of now. Good luck back to you...

My mom is having a pacemaker inserted in 3 weeks. Momentum tells me she can have an active life which made me feel better. Just worried about the process and that her body does not reject it.
I hope you're ok!

Rox, I am told that soon I will forget for the most part that I even have a pacer. That is the experience of most people. Our bodies do not reject pacers, however, everyone has a different body so the adjustment is different for everyone.
I am OK and becoming more active each couple of is important to NOT over do though. My life style has been very very active and I hope to go back to that for the most part. Good luck to your MOm and thanks for your response!
