Has anyone had the Opdivo (nivolumab) / Yervoy (ipilimumab) protocol?

Posted by max326 @max326, Oct 31, 2019

Hello, has anyone been on this protocol? If so did it work for you and what were the side effects? I was DX in June with stage IV NSCLC. Treatment was standard of care, Carbo-Alitma-Keytruda. The lung responded, yet the liver mets progressed and increased, as did the brain mets. The Opdivo/Yervoy has been given to me as an option. Other options include chemo and clinical trails. Thank you for any feedback.

Max, I'd like to bring @maria146 @ginpene05 and @keeks into this discussion. They or someone they care about has experience with Opdivo (nivolumab) / Yervoy (ipilimumab) combination treatment and may be able to share experiences with you.

Are you leaning towards the Opdivo/Yervoy treatment or opting for a clinical trial?

At this point I do not know which treatment plan I am going to go with. I have to hear the pros and cons of each. Any thoughts on clinical trials? Thanks

Colleen – No, I have not had the combo of Opdivo/Yervoy. I was on Opdivo for over 3 1/2 years until I had progression and switched to another immunotherapy called Tecentriq.

Thank you for your replies. I have look at the links both of you provided. Sure is a lot of information to process. The one clinical trial I have been submitted to is LungMap, waiting to hear if I qualify. We are going to MD Anderson on Wednesday. I am being treated at Northwestern in Chicago. The Opdivo/Yervoy can scare me a bit because of the possible side effects. When I have my options it will be decision time. Thank you again. And to anyone, I welcome any feedback on this combo or your experience with clinical trails.
