On Reclast for 15 years?
I have been getting Reclast infusions yearly for the past 10 years, and every other year for 5 years before that. My PCPs were prescribing it. I just got an actual Endocrinologist who told me Reclast only works for 5-6 years! Obviously, the PCPs didn’t know that. During this time, I had a broken wrist and a leg broken in 3 places from a non-traumatic fall. Now, I can’t get a different med till next August because there isn’t enough research on overlap with Reclast. Are any of you in the same situation? If so, what did you use after long-term Reclast?

Have you seen an endocrinologist?
Yes, it says so in my post. He is the one who told me that Reclast only works for 5-6 years.
@mrsdcb
What is the endocrinologists proposal for follow up drug? It would be helpful to know your age, sex, dexa scores, are you on hormone replacement therapy? If so what kind?

1 ReactionEndocrinologist hasn’t made a decision on follow-up drug, since he said he can’t prescribe anything else till next August. Running other blood tests this month, plus a VFA this coming Monday. I am 71 yr old female, hysterectomy at age 42 due to endometriosis. No hormone replacement therapy . One ovary remains. Dexas have been consistently -2.5 in recent years.
@mrsdcb my endo that I went to once ( not a fan) said I can only b on recast for 3 years. I just had my first infusion and I’ve got all the “ uncommon side effects”. Not happy and nearly 62

2 Reactions@berkeleybones 18 months out from my first and last infusion! Just when I think the symptoms are getting better, Physical Therapist increases an exercise and the symptoms are back, thank God they do not last as long! It is obvious, Life is a Gamble
