Hi, @mike36, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Sounds like a very challenging time.

I’d like to introduce you to a few other Connect members who are knowledgeable about some of the symptoms you mention. Please meet @hopeful33250, @blindeyepug , @gman007, @dawn_giacabazi, @kariulrich and @jimhd. Hopefully you can all meet here on this thread.

Connect has some groups in which members talk about some of the symptoms you mentioned. You may be interested to check out these:
Sleep Health, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/sleep-health
Mental Health, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/mental-health/

You may be especially interested in this discussion about depression in the Mental Health Group: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/long-term-depression/bookmark/?ajax_hook=action&_wpnonce=3043c02ccf

Have you spoken to a doctor about your symptoms?

Welcome, Mike @mike36 . Except for manic episodes, we sound a lot alike. I have sleep apnea, but my BIPAP machine makes it possible to sleep well. I’ve been struggling with major depression for a long time, and the psychiatrist diagnosed me with depressive bipolar disorder, which means that my highs aren’t very high. My baseline is lower than most.

Are you taking Lithium or something for bipolar? Are you talking with a therapist or doctor? I’ve learned the importance of a support system, whether it’s a doctor, good friend, minister or counselor. I’ve been seeing therapists for 12+ years, and they’ve kept me alive when I didn’t want to be.

I know about family not understanding. They’ve never been in our shoes. I suspect that as you work through the things you described, stress levels will ease.

Have you learned any relaxation exercises? They would be helpful to you now.

Jim

Hello @mike36, let me add my welcome to you as you have recently joined Mayo Connect. I’m sorry to hear about your problems with migraines, sleep, depression and mood swings. I would concur with what @jimhd posted that therapy and some help from a physician would be helpful for you right now.

How are you currently treating these problems?

Teresa

Hi, @mike36. Just wanted to check in with you and see how you have been feeling? Are you still experiencing the tremors, headache and frequent mood changes?

Mike @mike36 Have you asked your doctor to refer you to a psychologist or psychiatrist for an evaluation? They would understand what you’re experiencing. The sooner the better, is how I feel.

Hello Mike @mike36

I would also encourage you to see a good physician, perhaps even a neurologist because of the tremors and headaches. A good psychiatrist would also be great, because they are M.D.s and can look at the medical picture as well as the psychological picture that you present. If you are not able to get a referral from your doctor, please contact your county (or state) mental health association and see what they suggest. Also, if there is a NAMI group in your area, they can be of great assistance.

Will you keep in touch and let us know how you are doing?
